About the AOD Community Prevention Service
Our team promotes and supports grassroots, evidence-informed, community-led AOD prevention and harm minimisation initiatives in communities across the Kimberley, Mid West, Goldfields, Great Southern and South West regions.

How it works
Each Community Response Committee comprises community members and place-based stakeholders who work collaboratively with our Community Engagement Officers to develop localised Community Response Plans. These plans provide a blueprint for implementing innovative, targeted alcohol and other drug prevention activities.
From increasing awareness of the NHMRC’s ‘Alcohol Drinking Guidelines’ and the risks of alcohol and drug use to helping people seek AOD support or reduce risk factors, these grassroots activities are informed by evidence, as well as local knowledge. This is how we ensure they address local needs and align with the Australian Mental Health Promotion, Mental Illness, Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Plan 2018-2025.
