Hayley Diver Appointed to Mental Health Commission AOD Advisory Board

The WA Mental Health Commission has confirmed the appointment of Holyoake’s Hayley Diver, General Manager Services and Development, to the Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Board (AODAB) – a statutory body established under the Alcohol and Other Drugs Act 1974 to provide strategic advice to the Mental Health Commissioner.

Chaired by Professor Steve Allsop, the AODAB comprises members with expertise across prevention, community services, research, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, and lived and living experience. The Board plays a vital role in guiding policy and service development to address alcohol and other drug-related challenges across Western Australia.

Following a call by the Minister for Mental Health to appoint an additional member with strong regional service and program delivery expertise, Hayley was selected from a highly competitive field of applicants. Her appointment recognises her extensive leadership experience and her deep understanding of both regional and metropolitan service delivery within the alcohol and other drugs (AOD) sector.

Hayley brings more than two decades of experience developing and delivering community-based programs aimed at improving outcomes for individuals, families, and communities affected by alcohol and other drug use.

“I’m honoured to join the AOD Advisory Board and to contribute to shaping the future of alcohol and other drug policy and services in Western Australia,” said Ms Diver. “I’m passionate about ensuring that regional voices and experiences are heard in decision-making and that we continue to build accessible, evidence-informed supports for all communities.”

Hayley’s appointment strengthens the Advisory Board’s collective expertise and reinforces its commitment to inclusive, evidence-based advice that supports the Mental Health Commission’s mission to reduce harm and promote wellbeing across the state.
