Because families and friends need support too

Watching a loved one live with an alcohol, drug or mental health concern is hard. It’s even harder when this has an impact on your life, and you’re a child.

Over recent weeks, we have refurbished our Victoria Park youth waiting area for children attending the Attachment Art & Play and Young People’s programs to reduce anxiety when attending programs. The Attachment Art & Play Program is a powerful service that fosters the bond between the caregiver and child, using play as the primary intervention.

Our new mural by the amazing Sharon Peterkin provides a sense of playfulness and safety and carries on from her works of art on our first floor adjacent to our youth therapy rooms. The investment in this dedicated space follows consultation with our young people and the art therapy team.
